Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care is part of Grand Traverse Medical Care, which is included in the umbrella that comprises Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Rated among the top third of long-term care facilities in the nation, Grand Traverse Medical Care has the capacity to provide 24-hour skilled nursing care as well as a broad range of therapeutical, recreational, and nutritional services. The Pavilions houses 221 long-term care residents.
Grand Traverse Medical Care has embraced the Eden Alternative program, one of an elite group of long-term care servers in the state to embrace the concept.
The Eden Alternative program is a powerful tool for improving the quality of life for residents. The concept is aimed to eliminate the three plagues of long-term care services; loneliness, boredom and helplessness. It introduces pets into the residency, providing an enlivened setting with companion animals and the opportunity to care for other living things.
Accommodations for residents are within centrally-located residential neighborhoods. Each neighborhood - or Pavilion - is named after the trees on the park-like campus. For example, there are Aspen, Birch, Cherry, Dogwood, Elm and Maple Pavilions.
Private and semi-private suites offer handicap-accessible showers, breathtaking views of courtyards and terraces, and convenient access to Main Street, an exquisitely-decorated common area that connects each Pavilion to a community dining room, cafeteria and multi-purpose room. |
