Grand Traverse Pavilions has restored three historic “cottages” for use as adult supported living apartments and assisted living and respite suites. Tenants of The Cottages may access The Pavilions continuum of care, programs and services that reputably trademark this award-winning health care and residential organization.

Commonly referred to as Cottage 21, 23, and 25, the three historic buildings have been renamed Evergreen, Hawthorn, and Willow Cottages, respectively. The names were selected by staff and reflect the tradition of identifying residential neighborhoods at The Pavilions with the names of trees on Grand Traverse Commons Grounds.

Tenants of The Cottages incorporate the qualities of the Eden Alternative program on a daily basis. The Cottages Eden program includes: weekly age exchanges, intergenerational gardening activities, daily visits by guests with pets, and the allowance of pets in apartments.

Guests of the Adult Residential Community at The Cottages of Grand Traverse Pavilions incorporate the Eden Alternative program into their unique residential environment. In addition to a variety of age exchanges, The Cottages provide tenants with the ability to house small pets. The Cottages are also nestled amidst the pastoral setting of the Grand Traverse Commons Great Lawn and Arboretum.
