Care givers of older adults who are briefly away or may need a temporary break can take advantage of Grand Traverse Pavilions Adult Day and Overnight Respite Services.
Supervised care is available to adults 18 years of age and older who might benefit from enhanced socialization and recreation with peers. Participants are actively engaged in a variety of activities and field trips, including special intergenerational events.
Individuals who participate in either Adult Day or Overnight Respite Services may access the complete range of intergenerational programs and services available through the Grand Traverse Pavilions continuum of care. Programming is facilitated within the comfortable and secure environment of The Pavilions.
Included among The Pavilions continuum of care are dry land and aquatic Health and Fitness Programs, Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care, Rehabilitative Therapy Services, and first through latter stage Alzheimer's and Related Dementia Care.
Care givers who might consider Adult Day and/or Overnight Respite Services for loved ones are individuals who are required to be away from home, for example, because of work commitments, medical appointments, shopping needs, or even a much-needed vacation.
Rates for Adult Day Services are for a full day (four or more hours) and for half days (less than four hours). The fees include two meals and snacks. Additional fees are required for other continuum services. Overnight Respite, which encompasses 24-hour care, is available and can be utilized for several weeks at a time. Financial assistance is available through the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation.
Even though Adult Day and Overnight Respite Services participants are here for only a short period of time, they still engage in the beneficent joys of the Eden Alternative program through age exchanges, gardening activities, as well as other special intergenerational events. |
